Terms of use

IlocanoToTagalog provides free machine translation and reference phrase data for Philippine languages. There is no account, no fee, and no contract beyond these terms.

Translations are produced by a third-party machine translation service. We do not control that service and cannot guarantee it will be available, or that it will return the same result twice.

The service is provided as-is. We have measured its accuracy and published the result — machine output agreed with a human-checked translation about 57% of the time on our test set. See the accuracy page for the detail.

That figure is the warranty, in effect: we are telling you plainly that a meaningful share of output is wrong. Do not use it for legal, medical, financial or official documents, for public signage, or anywhere an error carries a cost. For those, hire a professional translator.

We are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on a translation produced here.

• Do not automate bulk requests against the translator. There is a rate limit, and circumventing it degrades the service for everyone.
• Do not use the site to produce unlawful or harassing material.
• Do not present output from this site as a certified or professional translation.
• Do not submit other people's personal information through the correction or contact forms.

Our phrasebook entries are compiled from published references, which are cited on each page. Individual words and their translations are facts and not ours to own; the compilation, notes and commentary are our work.

You are welcome to use individual phrases for learning, teaching or personal use. If you want to reproduce a substantial part of the compilation elsewhere, please ask first and credit the sources we cite.

These terms may change as the site does. The date at the top reflects the last revision. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.
