The most important thing to know
Text you enter into the translator is sent to a third-party machine translation service in order to be translated. That is how the tool works — there is no on-device translation happening.
This means anything you paste in leaves this site. Do not enter confidential, medical, financial or personally identifying information into the translator — on this site or on any other free translation tool.
What we store on our server
- Translation cache. Translated text is held in memory for up to 24 hours so repeated requests do not hit the upstream service again. It is not written to a database and is lost when the server restarts.
- Rate limiting. We keep a short-lived in-memory count of requests per IP address to stop one visitor exhausting the service. It is discarded after about ten minutes of inactivity.
- Corrections you submit. If you send a correction or use the contact form, what you wrote is stored, along with contact details if you chose to give them. Leave that field blank and the submission is anonymous.
We do not keep a log of translations tied to you. There is no account system, so there is no profile to build.
What is stored in your browser
- Theme preference — whether you chose light or dark.
- Recently used languages — so the picker can put them near the top.
Both use localStorage, both stay on your device, and neither is sent to us. Clearing your browser storage removes them.
IlocanoToTagalog sets no cookies of its own and shows no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
Analytics and advertising
At the time of writing this site runs no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. No scripts load from another domain.
If that changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live, and it will say which provider is involved.
Children
The site is generally suitable for all ages and collects nothing that identifies anyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and there is no mechanism here by which we could.
